Keeping Registers at Companies House

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE ECONOMIC CRIME & CORPORATE TRANSPARENCY ACT 2023 IS BEING IMPLEMENTED IN PHASES AND MAY CHANGE SOME OF THE TEMPLATES BELOW. 

Private companies currently have the option to elect to keep their statutory registers at Companies House.

The relevant registers include the:

• register of members;
• register of directors;
• register of directors’ residential addresses;
• register of secretaries (if applicable); and
• register of people with significant control (PSCs).

This sub-folder contains a guidance note on the process and the forms involved should a private company wish to take advantage of this voluntary regime. 

Note that the Economic Crime & Corporate Transparency Act 2023 is making significant changes to the keeping of registers and statutory records which will involve change to existing practice. There is no implementation date yet announced but in consideration of these changes (likely during 2025/6), much of the information below will become out of date and customers should start considering aligning their processes and procedures with those that will be implemented, details of which are set out in the guidance note below.
